GLOWY MAKEUP SERUM

They say: A face serum that’s suitable for normal, dry, combination and oily skin. The formula hydrates and manages oil production while giving skin a “translucent glow” thanks to ingredients such as diamond mineral powder and ceramide hydration gel.

We say: Our tester was pleased with this serum. A few drops applied to freshly cleansed and toned skin, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen, gave skin a fresh look and feel and a subtle glow. Skin looked hydrated without being shiny or too matte. Makeup applied easily over top and stayed smooth on skin.

CHANEL

ROUGE COCO FLASH

They

say: This lipstick release sees 12 new “intense and vibrant shades” added to the existing Rouge Coco Flash lipstick collection, which debuted in 2019. The formulas boast a “melt-away texture” and a hydrating formula to give lips a dose of moisture and a kiss of colour.

We say: These lipsticks provide a much-needed break from the matte revolution, offering a subtle dose of shine and a big hit of hydration. Our tester loved the shade 122 Play, a pink-red hue with a hint of sparkle that could be applied lightly for a soft flush or slicked all over lips for a more dramatic dose of colour.

OLD SPICE ULTRASMOOTH ALUMINUM FREE DEODORANT

They say:

An aluminum-free deodorant formula from Old Spice that promises to provide 48-hour odour protection. The stick formula is dye-free and dermatologist tested, with a subtle scent.

We say: Our tester subbed this product in for his usual brand and was pleased with its performance. The scent Fresh Start had a nice aroma that wasn’t too strong. Put to the test during a week of outdoor work, he reported it performed well and left him B.o.-free.
