Elderly man hit by vehicle in serious condition

A man in his 80s was taken to hospital in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road in Canyon Meadows.

EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux said the man was struck around 6:30 a.m. while in a crosswalk in the 600 block of Canyon Meadows Drive S.W.

“He was transported to Foothills Hospital in otherwise serious condition,” said Brideaux.

The driver remained at the scene and was uninjured.
