A DAZZLING MASTER RETREAT

Lucca in Rockland Park features a roomy, luxurious sleep space with standout ensuite

When selecting a new home, the master bedroom should not be a space overlooked.

After a busy day at work, the heads of the household deserve an elevated retreat. Not to mention functional, elegant surroundings for starting one's day.

These characteristics are seen in a Brookfield Residential model now displayed in Rockland Park. The front-drive Lucca reaches 3,070 square feet and has three bedrooms above grade.

Northwest Calgary's Rockland Park launched in 2021 and is slated for 48.5 hectares (120 acres) in park space. There's a large central park system that connects residents to the scenic escarpment.

In the Lucca, the master bedroom is both spacious and luxurious. The 16-foot six inch by 15-foot eight inch sleep space, accessed from french doors, is accented by a tray-style ceiling design.

But its standout feature is the dazzling ensuite. Its exterior wall stars a chic free-standing tub flanked by sinks. Adding visual interest, the segment of the wall behind the tub boxes out.

Having two sinks provides plenty of elbow room, letting both partners get ready for their day, or for bed, at the same time.

Across from one of the sinks is a generously sized shower with a glass door and full height tile.

Moreover, the ensuite provides direct access to a substantial walkthrough closet. The closet is so large, it works as a dressing room.

Connecting the ensuite and closet is handy for one's morning routine, putting everything necessary behind one door.

This closet also links to a laundry room with a front-load washer and dryer, sink, counter and valuable selection of cabinets.

The laundry room can be accessed from the second floor hallway, as well.

Next to the master bedroom is a large bonus room that overlooks stairs to the first level. The bonus room is well-removed from the secondary bedrooms, making it easy for parents to stream their favourite series late into the evening and not be concerned about the volume disturbing their children as they sleep.

Both secondary bedrooms have their own walk-in closet. The larger of these bedrooms is 13 feet by 10 feet seven inches.

Kitty corner to these bedrooms is a full bathroom that has a vanity with two sinks beneath a full-width mirror. Once again, this supports multiple people using the space at the same time. On busy school day mornings, this is a valuable time-saver.

Looking to the main level, there is a focus on things being open and bright.

A series of windows on the rear wall pours sunlight through the adjacent great room and dining area, and then into the central kitchen.

Among these windows are sliding glass doors that step out to a deck.

In the great room, the focal point is a box-shaped fireplace flanked by built-in shelves. These shelves are ideal for family photos, books and small pieces of art.

The L-shaped kitchen is a domestic chef's delight, led by its large island with a sink and eating bar that seats at least four people. In addition to offering a spot for guests to sit, snack and chat, the island boasts plenty of surface area for food preparation.

This show home is appointed with an upscale integrated fridge with french doors. The kitchen is shown with a butler's pantry, including a sink, counter, shelves and cabinets.

People who work from home will be drawn toward the 10-foot three inch by 11-foot eight inch flex room next to the kitchen. This window-lit work space is an ideal spot for hosting multiple co-workers or clients.
