Just an Average Favourite Ride

Today, I had one of my most favourite rides of all time. Nothing spectacular happened riding the same route I’ve ridden dozens of times with the same person I always ride it with. No far-off adventure. No Strava records. Just me and my best friend taking our road bikes out for likely one last hurrah before the snow flies (again) in Edmonton. I don’t know what it was. Maybe it’s the fact we’ve both been working too much with too many long days. Maybe it’s the lack of saddle time this year. Whatever it was, I haven’t been able to stop smiling since.
