Since many of my rides are early in the morning, I not only put a head unit on my bars before I ride, but a light, too. The Garmin Varia UT800 smart headlight ($200, garmin.com) makes the setup on my bars a little more elegant and easier to ready. The light comes with a amount that holds both the Varia and a Garmin head unit. The light can also pair with many Garmin products. Its beam will then vary in intensity – high (800 lumens), medium (400 lumens), low (200 lumens), night flash (100 to 300 lumens) and day flash (more than 700 lumens) – according to your speed.
