1-2 A new weekend of C2-level cyclocross races comes to Ontario’s capital. The first Toronto Cyclocross is a collaborat­ion by local ’cross events experts Midweek Cycling, Full Moon Vista Production­s – the team behind the Rochester Cyclocross weekend held on the other side of Lake Ontario – and mec. With uci points on the line, top riders will make their way to Centennial Park for the races.

4-9 Sean Fincham (p.12) is hoping to return to the mountain bike world championsh­ips. This year, the races for rainbow jerseys are in Lenzerheid­e, Switzerlan­d. Fellow Canuck cross country racer Haley Smith compares the trails in Lenzerheid­e with those of Victoria: “Lenzerheid­e is a really fun course. I think it plays to Canadians’ strengths. It’s really rooty and undulating, muddy often. It’s just a style of course where you’re working the bike, similar to in Victoria.”

8 The day after the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and the day before Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal, Avenue du Parc in Montreal sees top Canadian and some internatio­nal riders compete in Critérium National.

9 A champagne birthday for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal? The ninth edition of the Worldtour race runs on the ninth day of the month.

27-29 In Milton, Ont., the Canadian track championsh­ip take place on the velodrome in the Mattamy National Cycling Centre.
