Squad Phantom RS $7,900

The Squad Phantom was designed as a performance road bike that was light and rigid but could handle long rides. For 2019, Squad has introduced the original Phantom’s big brother, known as the Phantom RS. To knock some weight off the already light frame, bringing it down into the sub-700-g category, the company used unidirectional Torray carbon. This build includes a Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain with Vision Metron 40 SL wheels wrapped in Continental GP 5000 tires. The cockpit features an fsa Force handlebar, fsa 0S-99 stem and a Fizik Antares saddle. ( squadcycles.com)

Deanima AMG-01 $5,799 (frameset)

Italian brand Deanima believes cyclists spending thousands on a new bike should get something unique, rather than cookie cutter, in return. The amg-01 is Deanima’s third carbon frame design, which is disc-only. The 950-g frame includes internal cable routing, a rear thru axle and flat mounts for the brakes. What sets the amg apart, however, is that the price tag includes custom geometry made to your requirements and your choice of paint design from Gianni Pegoretti’s shop. The end result is a lightweight, truly one-of-a-kind carbon road frame. ( blacksmithcycle.com)—dandakin
