Stage 15 of the 2020 race is slated to end with a clamber up the “easier” side of Grand Colombier in the Jura mountains, but only after two other ascents of it from different sides: Montée de la Selle de Fromentel and Col de la Biche. The first time the Tour went up the Grand Colombier in 2012, Thomas Voeckler led the way and won down in Bellegarde-sur-valserine. Warren Barguil most recently crested this climb before the others in the 2017 Tour. The points he received helped him to secure the polka-dot jersey.
