Well To Do

-

While putting together this wellness issue, the Canadian Living team was in the midst of an in-office challenge: For one month, staff members implemented simple well-being goals and held one another accountable to them. My personal goal was to drink a giant glass of water in the morning before beelining to my espresso machine—no easy feat. I adapted my evening routine to include filling up said glass and placing it on my nightstand, ready for my a.m. guzzle. The result? More energy and less sluggishness. I felt like what I imagine a morning person feels like every day (basically, a superhero). Other colleagues were buoyed by practising good posture, positing on gratitude, stretching, meditating and stair-climbing. The key to our successes was creating resolutions that were small and achievable.

To come up with your own feel-good goals, look no further than this issue. Get started with our comprehensive “A to Z Guide to Spring Cleaning Your Wellness Routine” (page 70), which showcases the latest in health, fitness, nutrition and mindfulness. In our Fashion & Beauty section, “Performance Enhancers” (page 30) will have you looking the part with on-trend athleisure clothing. Find out if you’re in need of a friendship detox in “Is Your Friendship Toxic?” (page 50). And for meal inspiration, check out our wholesome, satisfying grain bowls in “What’s for Dinner?” (page 90)—I can’t get enough of the spicy salmon poke.

This spring, cleaning is more than just washing and scrubbing. It’s a fresh start that’s all about feeling your best.
