A good sleep for great skin
“After one, or several, short nights in a row, there can be swelling around the eyes and a bluish appearance, dry skin, dilated pores, a dull complexion and drawn features,” says Dr. Jean-françois Tremblay, dermatologist and medical director of MÉDIME Medical Aesthetic Institute. These side effects are reversible in the short term, but a chronic lack of sleep can lead to permanent damage, including, among other things, premature aging of the skin. Through insomnia, our skin can really suffer: More fine lines and pigmentation, an uneven complexion, sagging skin and loss of elasticity…which is why it’s so crucial to get a good night’s sleep, ideally seven to nine hours a night. Now, off to bed!
