MCRUN MCGILL RUNNING CLUB MONTREAL, QUEBEC Club Stats

- 2015 261 $5

FOUNDED MEMBERS FEES WEBSITE he had, but he was a little intimidated to join – this is a marketing problem for us. But once we met, it was clear that the “traditional” running club was made up of the same types of people as McRun: friendly people who like to run and have a good time. It’s pretty simple, really. I asked him if he’d heard of Charlie Dark, or the Bridge the Gap events around the world, recently in Toronto at the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon. He hadn’t. But it’s telling that, co-ordinated or not, #hashtagged or analog, the idea of getting runners together to be social and run is growing across the planet. McRun and McGill Olympic share a symbiotic relationship: McRun now offers, in addition to their 10 weekly group runs, training plans based on the McGill Olympic program, for those who want to push things further in training groups that prep for events together, including the Lasalle 5–10k Road Race in March, Montreal Scotiabank 5k and 21k in April, and the Ottawa Marathon in May. If McRunners want to join a structured training group, they are welcome in McGill Olympic. Conversely, if someone comes across McGill Olympic and they are really looking for a more casual group, or the schedule just doesn’t fit, now moc can refer them to McRun so that they will get the positive experience they crave, with like-minded runners. Check out McRun McGill on their website mcrunmcgill.com. You can join by just showing up to one of the head runs listed there and paying the low $5 membership fee.
