Halifax

- By Sarah Riley

If you haven’t visited Halifax in a while, things have changed. The harbourfront downtown has cranes in the air and is seeing growth for the first time in years. The new Central Library shows to the world that this city is forward-thinking and cares about big ideas.

Halifax has always been a fun, challenging place to run, with a significant number of hills and the city’s running mecca, Point Pleasant Park, offering many challenging trails. Running across the bridge to Halifax’s sibling city of Dartmouth and back also makes for one picturesque long run. Many exciting new spots for food, drink and culture have popped up with all this recent excitement in the city. It’s now pretty easy find a great celebratory ending point after hooking up with any of the city’s many vibrant run clubs and crews. Here are some recommendations for where to run or check out after exploring Halifax on foot.
