SCOT IABANK TORONTO WAT ERFRONT MARAT HON

-

The medals have depicted a different Toronto landmark every year since 2008. Last year’s medal showed off Toronto’s 1960s futurist twin-towered City Hall. “Getting to the start line of a marathon is a journey,” says medal designer Inge Johnson. “Getting to the finish line of a marathon is another huge journey. I want to reward those efforts with a medal design that is meaningful to those who have journeyed, crossed the finish line and earned this proof of their endeavour. I mean to make it special, showcasing what Toronto runners love about our city while taking great care with how the landmark is rendered in relief on the metal. I mean to make it a work of art.”
