An­kle and hip sta­bil­ity be­come big play­ers in this in­jury. If you’re weak through your hip sta­bi­liz­ers you are po­ten­tially cross­ing the cen­tre of your body as you run. If your an­kles are weak your tib­ialis pos­te­rior is prob­a­bly do­ing more then it should. As a side note, foot strength can also play a role, as the stronger the foot is the less the tib­ialis pos­te­rior has to do.
