Tapering
Remind yourself you have put in the work, trust your fitness, be excited to test yourself and remind yourself that this is supposed to be fun. The nerves need to be channelled into positive energy and enjoying the race atmosphere.
Sleeping
If you don’t get a good night’s sleep before race day (which is the norm) don’t stress about it. Your fitness is your fitness, it doesn’t disappear overnight.
Racing
Stay in the moment, in whatever way works for you, whether it is focusing on the runners ahead of you or taking in the scenery around you.
