Since revamping their approach to running in 2016, the mega brand have rolled out some very appealing concepts and designs. Under Armour’s new “smart shoe” line provides real-time pace and cadence. The lineup also tells you how many kilometres you’ve logged with it, so that you’ll know when it’s time for a replacement pair.

The Velociti can either connect to MapMyRun while you run (if you carry your phone) or it syncs post-run, meaning that you don’t need to wear a GPS watch if you don’t have one or feel like wearing one. Purchase of each pair comes with a one-year subscription to MapMyRun MVP, which allows you to access training plans and a deeper analysis of your running metrics. A nice incentive, but the main reason to consider the Velociti RE is because they are a well-crafted pair of lightweight trainers.
