Reebok Supreme Floatride U

-

$200; Men’s 233 g (8.2 oz.), Women’s 198 g (7 oz.); Drop ratio: 8 mm Reebok rethinks how it designs running shoes with the Floatride. This shoe incorporates a stretchy, hip-looking knit upper with a very soft yet responsive midsole for an intriguing new lightweight shoe. One of our testers admitted that they normally dislike soft shoes, preferring a firmer feel, and were expecting to dislike this shoe, but were won over by the combination of soft yet responsive cushioning. The relatively mild drop also promotes a midfoot landing that feels good at a variety of paces. The knit upper and thermo-moulded heel make for a comfortable, hot spot-free interior. The laces run through a plastic midfoot cage that held the foot firmly, sometimes too much so. The cage does such an effective job holding one’s foot that less tension is needed than you'd think. The outsole, laid out in a grid of squares, is sure-footed and versatile enough for tamer trails and winter slush, without feeling squirmy on pavement. The Floatride is a quick, soft and very stylish ride.
