Finally — A Tank Top That Doesn’t Ride Up

Two years ago, during a long day’s drive to a vacation destination in British Columbia, Kiki Rozema of Grande Prairie, Alta. had the idea for Smoothies Activewear. Like many women, whether running, working out or going about her day, Rozema liked to wear tank tops under most things, but she was frustrated by the constant need to pull them down. Even while driving, her tank top rode up. Suddenly realizing that millions of active women wear tanks that don’t fit or function properly, she decided to solve the problem by designing one herself.

Running offers women a chance to put their own self-care first, for once. And there is so much acceptance from experienced and novice runners – there always seems to be someone cheering you on and encouraging you to crush your goals. Designed and made in Canada, Smoothies body-hugging tank tops are moisture-wicking and come in fashionable colours in sizes xxs to 3xl. Longer at the bottom and higher at the neckline than most tank tops, they’re not see-through and they inspire confidence – no more tugging down your tank top while running or working out.

At Smoothies Activewear, we also want to make a difference: we donate five per cent of our online sales to the Breakfast Clubs of Canada. And we have created a three-day empowerment/mentorship camp for girls aged 10 –14, with mentors aged 15–17. During the camp, we focus on anti-bullying, body image, healthy lifestyle, running/hiking and the dynamics of female friendships.
