CWF’S Ban With a Plan

-

A co-operative approach to achieve five critical long-term goals:

1. Ban neonics 2. Recover species impacted by neonics, including pollinators 3. Give farmers alternatives and incentives to use them 4. Reform the Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency 5. Build a vision for environmentally sustainable agriculture in Canada

Survey Says….

We asked over 200,000 Canadians to complete our survey on our Ban With a Plan Pollinator Recovery Action Plan.

This is what we found out:

Over 90% of responders are very concerned about the decline of our insect pollinators, and the majority feel that the responsibility to fund initiatives to recover our pollinators lies with government, non-government conservation groups, corporations and each of us individually. Just over 65% of responders feel that the biggest threats to these species are: pesticides such as neonicotinoids (neonics); habitat loss, degradation and fragmentation; and climate change. We asked what actions people would be willing to commit to over the next year in order to expand available wild spaces for beneficial insects like pollinators. Here are the top four answers: 1. Plant more wildflowers in the garden 2. Purchase products that do not contain neonics 3. Reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides 4. Advocate for more green space

Thank you for your conservation efforts on behalf of all insect pollinators!!!
