Marjorie passed away on Sept. 26, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late John and Irene (MacDonald) MacNeil.

Marjorie will be missed by many lifelong friends, neighbours and cousins.

Surviving are her brother, Ronald MacNeil and sister, Yvonne (Ernest) Jerrett; nieces, Erna (Bernie), Corrine (Tom), Irene ( Jim), Donna, Sandra (Herold); grandnephe­ws and grandniece­s, Mike, Jarrett, Johnathan, Jamel, Caitlin, Rachel, Tlisa and Vanessa.

Besides her parents she was predecease­d by her husband, Roy.

Special thanks to Shannon, Tina, Brenda, Ava, Lisa and Annette who fought the battle by her side. Also thanks to her palliative-care team of doctors and nurses, Dr. Kohlsmith, and all of the many home-care workers who tended to her throughout her struggle.

There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Parish ( former St. Pius X Church) on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sydney Mines.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the IWK Health Center Foundation or the Cape Breton Humane Society.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
