Sydney River athlete takes being in shape to extreme level

SYDNEY FORKS — A Sydney Forks woman is proving herself to be one of the fittest athletes in eastern Canada. Cara Pettipas, 24, finished in 5th place at last weekend’s “ZooBattle 2015”, a CrossFit competition that was held in Moncton, N. B. For her placement, Pettipas, who trains at CrossFit Per Ardua in Sydney River, receives an all expense paid trip to take part in the Canadian finals in Montreal, Qué., Dec. 5- 6. The extreme workout competition that tests every aspect of fitness includes lunges, squats, weights, pull- ups, skipping rope and jumpovers.
