It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Francis ‘Frank’ Sullivan, age 69, of Balls Creek, formerly of Kempt Head, on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at his home.

Frank was born at North Sydney, on Jan. 24, 1946, he was a son of the late Eugene and Mary Catherine (Shinners) Sullivan. He was employed with Marine Atlantic as a stevedore for 35 years until his retirement. He was hard worker throughout his life, he enjoyed clearing land and burning brush and also loved to cook. He loved being outdoors and spending time in the woods and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Young) Sullivan; his son, Anthony Sullivan, at home; daughter, Sandra (Arthur) Trenchard, Sydney; granddaugh­ter, Jillian Trenchard; his two brothers, Bert (Carol) Sullivan, North Sydney and Keith (Debbie) Sullivan, Mill Creek, also by a number nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his son, Brian in 2001; a sister, Elizabeth Evaniski; a brother, Anthony and sister, Collette in infancy.

Visitation for Frank will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Rev. Vern Boutilier officiatin­g. Cremation will follow and burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
