It is with great sad­ness that I an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of my beloved hus­band, Gerald Fran­cis Spar­row on Tues­day, June 30, 2015. Gerry was a won­der­ful hus­band, fa­ther, son and friend.

Gerry grew up in Glace Bay, the son of Loretta and the late Joseph Spar­row and resided in Evanston, Rich­mond Co.

Gerry is sur­vived by his wife, Denise (Gil­lis); his lit­tle pal, “Dash;” daugh­ter, Ni­cole; son, Justin. He is also sur­vived by his mother, Loretta; broth­ers, Ce­cil, Maney, Joey (Donna), Kelly (Iris), Colin (Bon­nie); sis­ters, Starla (Ce­cil) MacQueen, Joanne (Fabian) La­hey and Doreen.

He was pre­de­ceased by his fa­ther, Joseph; sis­ter, Noreen in in­fancy; grand­par­ents, Joseph and He­len De­veaux and Dr. Ce­cil John and He­len Spar­row.

Also sur­viv­ing are his inlaws, mother and fa­ther in-law, Peggy and Rod­die Gil­lis; sis­ters-in-law, Juanita (Glen) Mus­grave, Heather (Kevin) Hal­lo­ran, Cathy (Adam) Kennedy; broth­ers-in-law, Jason (Kath­leen) Gil­lis and Glen (Kelly) Gil­lis. Gerry will be greatly missed by his many nieces, neph­ews and friends.

Gerry was an avid sports fan and he es­pe­cially loved the “Bos­ton Bru­ins” and could be found in his favourite chair watch­ing the game with Dash.

There will be no ser­vice or vis­i­ta­tion as per Gerry’s wishes.

Do­na­tions may be made to a char­ity of one’s choice.
