It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Bernie ‘Bunny’ at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital , Sydney, on July 3, 2015.

He was the son of the late Alex and Lucy (Detcheverr­y) Admond.

Bernie is survived by children, Lucina (Rick), Denise, (Terry), Joe (Ria), Cathie, Bernard and Ron and grandchild­ren, Lisa, Richard, Sheri, David, Amanda and Mark and great-grandchild­ren, Annabel and David.

Bernie is predecease­d by his beloved wife, Cecilia (McIntyre); daughter, Mary (at birth); brothers and sisters, Alec, Mary, Francis, Madeline, Norman, Raymond, Leo and Ernie. Survived by Eddie and Jeanette.

A proud member of the Canadian Military Service (Army) and also a UN Peacekeepe­r and an inspiratio­n to all of his children. After retirement he worked for AECL as a Commission­er for 15 years. An exceptiona­l gardener and loyal Blue Jays baseball fan, Bernie was also an avid fisherman. He was a proud member of Branch 3 of the Royal Canadian Legion where he and Cecilia enjoyed many Saturday nights dancing.

There will be no visitation at Bernie’s request. A funeral service celebratin­g his life will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 2 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in St Anne’s Cemetery.
