It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of our dear fa­ther, Bernie ‘Bunny’ at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal , Syd­ney, on July 3, 2015.

He was the son of the late Alex and Lucy (Detchev­erry) Ad­mond.

Bernie is sur­vived by chil­dren, Lucina (Rick), Denise, (Terry), Joe (Ria), Cathie, Bernard and Ron and grand­chil­dren, Lisa, Richard, Sheri, David, Amanda and Mark and great-grand­chil­dren, Annabel and David.

Bernie is pre­de­ceased by his beloved wife, Ce­cilia (McIntyre); daugh­ter, Mary (at birth); broth­ers and sis­ters, Alec, Mary, Fran­cis, Made­line, Nor­man, Ray­mond, Leo and Ernie. Sur­vived by Ed­die and Jeanette.

A proud mem­ber of the Cana­dian Mil­i­tary Ser­vice (Army) and also a UN Peace­keeper and an in­spi­ra­tion to all of his chil­dren. Af­ter re­tire­ment he worked for AECL as a Com­mis­sioner for 15 years. An ex­cep­tional gar­dener and loyal Blue Jays base­ball fan, Bernie was also an avid fish­er­man. He was a proud mem­ber of Branch 3 of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion where he and Ce­cilia en­joyed many Satur­day nights danc­ing.

There will be no vis­i­ta­tion at Bernie’s re­quest. A fu­neral ser­vice cel­e­brat­ing his life will be held on Wed­nes­day, July 8th at 2 p.m. in Curry’s Fu­neral Home Chapel. In­ter­ment will be in St Anne’s Ceme­tery.
