After adding an Emmy last year for her work on this show to the one she already had for “Glee,” Jane Lynch returns as the high-energy host as Season 3 of the competitio­n begins with “Two Janes Are Better Than One.” Lynch maintains a party atmosphere as two teams — each consisting of three celebritie­s, here including Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family”) and music’s John Legend, and an everyday citizen — vie to answer questions in a variety of games.

2 NCIS: New |Orleans

8 p.m. on (GLO)

A petty officer’s murder might be solved if Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team can locate the girlfriend the victim apparently was about to ask to marry him in “Love Hurts.” The hunt gets complicate­d, though, when the woman in question can’t be found. Daryl Mitchell (“The John Larroquett­e Show”) guest stars. Zoe McLellan, Lucas Black and CCH Pounder also star.

3 Fresh Off the Boat

A visit by Jessica’s (Constance Wu) sister Connie (guest star Susan Park) and her family means different things to different members of the Huang household in “Success Perm.” Eddie (Hudson Yang) gets a disappoint­ing surprise after looking forward to being reunited with his cousin (guest star Lance Lim). The adults continue their long-standing rivalry over which of the couples is more successful.

Beau Bridges teams with fellow guest star Anna Deavere Smith (“The West Wing”) to play Bow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) parents in “Parental Guidance.” They turn up just as Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow are about to renew their marriage vows, and their presence sparks immediate conflict with Pops and Ruby (Laurence Fishburne, guest star Jenifer Lewis).

With Jackson’s (James Wolk) help, Abraham (Nonso Anozie) survives a lion attack in Botswana in the new episode “Fight or Flight.” The peril he faced leads Abraham to conclude that animals have decided to make humans their prey. In Los Angeles, Jamie and Mitch (Kristen Connolly, Billy Burke) suspect that a chemical may have something to do with the sudden rampages. Chloe (Nora Arnezeder) tries to get back to normalcy in Paris.
