Af­ter adding an Emmy last year for her work on this show to the one she al­ready had for “Glee,” Jane Lynch re­turns as the high-energy host as Sea­son 3 of the com­pe­ti­tion be­gins with “Two Janes Are Bet­ter Than One.” Lynch main­tains a party at­mos­phere as two teams — each con­sist­ing of three celebri­ties, here in­clud­ing Jesse Tyler Fer­gu­son (“Mod­ern Fam­ily”) and mu­sic’s John Leg­end, and an ev­ery­day citizen — vie to an­swer ques­tions in a va­ri­ety of games.

A petty of­fi­cer’s mur­der might be solved if Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team can lo­cate the girl­friend the vic­tim ap­par­ently was about to ask to marry him in “Love Hurts.” The hunt gets com­pli­cated, though, when the woman in ques­tion can’t be found. Daryl Mitchell (“The John Lar­ro­quette Show”) guest stars. Zoe McLel­lan, Lu­cas Black and CCH Pounder also star.

A visit by Jes­sica’s (Con­stance Wu) sis­ter Con­nie (guest star Su­san Park) and her fam­ily means dif­fer­ent things to dif­fer­ent mem­bers of the Huang house­hold in “Suc­cess Perm.” Ed­die (Hud­son Yang) gets a dis­ap­point­ing sur­prise af­ter look­ing for­ward to be­ing re­united with his cousin (guest star Lance Lim). The adults con­tinue their long-stand­ing ri­valry over which of the cou­ples is more suc­cess­ful.

Beau Bridges teams with fel­low guest star Anna Dea­vere Smith (“The West Wing”) to play Bow’s (Tracee El­lis Ross) par­ents in “Parental Guid­ance.” They turn up just as Dre (An­thony An­der­son) and Bow are about to re­new their mar­riage vows, and their pres­ence sparks im­me­di­ate con­flict with Pops and Ruby (Lau­rence Fish­burne, guest star Jenifer Lewis).

With Jack­son’s (James Wolk) help, Abra­ham (Nonso Anozie) sur­vives a lion at­tack in Botswana in the new episode “Fight or Flight.” The peril he faced leads Abra­ham to con­clude that an­i­mals have de­cided to make hu­mans their prey. In Los An­ge­les, Jamie and Mitch (Kris­ten Con­nolly, Billy Burke) sus­pect that a chem­i­cal may have some­thing to do with the sud­den ram­pages. Chloe (Nora Arnezeder) tries to get back to nor­malcy in Paris.
