With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, sister, aunt and friend, Patsy, on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late John ‘Dick’ and Catherine ‘Kaye’ (MacEachern) Brady. She was an LPN graduate of the N.S. Sanitorium; her passion and her philosophy was for positive thinking and natural healing, and over the past several years she earned many certifications in the naturopathic field. She was a Reiki Master and owner of Cape Breton Laser Therapy.

We will never forget her ginormous laugh that filled the room and made everyone in it laugh with her. She loved to spend time with family and friends, whether it was around a campfire singing a tune or a walk on the beach collecting beach glass. She was a true friend and always there with love, support and honesty for those she loved. Never hesitating to speak her mind, we never wondered where she stood.

She was inspiring in her attitude, and she has touched more lives than any of us will ever know.

She is survived by her son, Kevin; stepchildren, Cathy (Frank) MacNeil Sentence, Lonnie (Nancy) MacNeil and Michael MacNeil; brothers, Ricky (Gloria), Brian (Maura); many nieces and nephews — each one very special to her. One special nephew, Mark Barber, who was her very close friend and supporter. Also surviving is Kevin’s father, Lonnie MacNeil.

We are so grateful for the wonderful circle of friends whom she loved so dearly, and who were there to love and support her to the very end; Linda Kennedy, Glenda Aylward, Betty Mallett and Judy Harron.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son, Ryan; stepson, Jack; sisters, Marie, Shirley and Cathy.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or service. A small family memorial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
