It is with profound sadness the family of Helen M. ‘Mimmie’ Bresson (nee Perry) announce her passing on July 13, 2015, one day after her 82nd birthday.

Mimmie passed away peacefully at home, in the arms of her family after a brief illness. She was the last surviving member of her family.

She is survived by sons, Joey (Cathy), Fredericto­n, Louie (Cathy), Louisdale; daughter, Jo-Ann McKinnon (Robbie), Bridgeport; grandchild­ren, Krista McKinnon (Mike MacLean), New Waterford, Mark McKinnon (Ashley McNeil), Saint John, Kelly-Lynn Bresson ( Jason), Bridgewate­r, Ryan Bresson (Ruthie), Calgary, Colin Bresson (Alicia); and Kyle Bresson, Louisdale; greatgrand­children, Abigail and Jacob Bresson, Calgary; sisterin-law, Kathleen Cirotto (Moncey), Guelph, who was more like a sister to Mimmie; and her very best friend Gwen Boutilier of Glace Bay; special nephew and niece, Artie and Clare O’Regan, Glace Bay, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predecease­d by her husband of 50 years, Francis Bresson of Bridgeport; parents, Simon and Bridget Perry of Reserve; stepmother, Johnina Perry of Reserve; sisters, Peggy, Sadie and Angela; and her brother, John. She was also predecease­d by her good friends, Trudy and Marguerite Bresson.

Mimmie was previously employed by Modern Cleaners and worked at various offices throughout Glace Bay and Sydney area. Besides spending time with her children, grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren, Mimmie enjoyed her Friday nights at the Bayplex with Gwen and friends, Sunday nights playing cards with Trudy and Margeruite (affectiona­tely known as the golden girls by Francis) and bingo with Clare.

Visitation for Mimmie will be held at V.J. McGillivra­y Fu- neral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay on Friday July 17, 2015, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Fr. Leo Boone officiatin­g. Interment will be at later date.

Mimmie will always be remembered for her sense of humour, wit and kindness, by her family and all who knew her.

Family flowers only, donations may be made to palliative care.

Special thanks to Dr. Carol Boutilier for her years of endless care and love, Dr. George Burns, Cathie Lloyd, RN, and all of the palliative care staff, VON nurses and homecare workers who made it possible for Mimmie’s family to fulfil her final wish to remain at home until her passing.
