Man found dead in In­ver­ness har­bour

IN­VER­NESS — Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the death of a man found in In­ver­ness har­bour. Ac­cord­ing to an RCMP news re­lease, peo­ple walk­ing along Beach No. 1 Road called po­lice at about 4:30 p.m. on Fri­day af­ter see­ing an un­re­spon­sive man float­ing in the body of wa­ter also known as MacIsaac’s Pond. Upon ar­rival, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a 55-year- old man who was pro­nounced dead at the scene. Po­lice say the man was from Lockport and had been tem­po­rar­ily liv­ing on a boat in the area. The cause of death is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, although po­lice say that the cir­cum­stances do not ap­pear sus­pi­cious. On Sun­day, an RCMP spokesper­son said there was no up­date on their in­ves­ti­ga­tion, which is on­go­ing.
