It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmothe­r, Ethel Dolores LeBlanc Poirier, at the Glace Bay Hospital on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Born in Glace Bay on Feb. 2, 1931, to Peter Hibbert and Ethel Rosemary (Bourgeois) Devison, Dolores is survived by her loving sons, Joe (Nan) Poirier, Blaine (Sonya) Poirier and Vaughn (Tanya) Poirier and grandchild­ren, Jeff, Andrew, Joey and Katie. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Marie Lynk (Hugh Lynch), Paula Stull, Ontario, Theresa Jackman, Ontario; brothers, Charles (Dolly), Ontario and Vincent (Helen LeBlanc), Reserve Mines; as well as by her many nieces and nephews and their families in Canada and the United States.

Dolores was predecease­d by her parents Ethel and Hibbert, sisters, Joan Marie Sampson and Sister Yvonne Devison of the Sisters of Charity, and by her husbands, Joseph G. Poirier and Joseph R. LeBlanc.

Special thanks to Dr. Boutilier and the nursing staff at the Glace Bay Hospital for their support and their wonderful, compassion­ate, profession­al care of our mother.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Main Street, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Dan Boudreau officiatin­g. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Dolores’s name may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, the palliative-care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
