Southside Boularderi­e We regret to announce the passing of Agnes Rita MacIntyre, 98, on Monday July, 27, 2015 at the Northside Community Guest Home, where she had been living for the last 11 months, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Southside Boularderi­e on Dec. 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James and Christie (Steele) MacNeil. Agnes was a devoted mem- ber of St. Joachim Church, and lifelong resident of Southside Boularderi­e.

Agnes was a woman of very deep faith. She loved spending time with her family. Some of her favourite pastimes were, gardening, listening to Celtic music and playing cards.

Agnes is survived by her only son, Rod, and his wife, Charlotte, who were also her caregivers for many years. Grandchild­ren, Veronica (Robb) MacNeil; children, Jaclyn, Jamee, Robbyn; Hector (Anita), children Daniel, Sarah, Bhreagh; Marina (Brad) Wile, children Matt, Alaina, Jeremy; Carolyn (Vick) Finlayson, children, Jackson and Taylor; Roger (Kristin) their son, Rory. Along with her sister, Lucy Muise and “special daughter” Pennie Redmile, Montreal.

Besides her parents, Agnes was predecease­d by her loving husband, Hector, in 1971, along with six brothers and five sisters.

Visitation for the late Agnes MacIntyre will be held in the JM Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 6-9 p.m. A celebratio­n of Agnes’ life will take place on Thursday at 3 p. m. in St. Joachim Church, Southside Boularderi­e with Fr. Peter McLeod officiatin­g. Burial in the parish cemetery, with reception to follow in the Southside Boularderi­e Fire Hall.
