It is with saddened hearts that we the family of Winston ‘Blaise’ MacDonald announce his sudden passing on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his loving family at his side.

A son, brother, nephew, cousin and a friend, Blaise leaves many to mourn his passing including his parents, Elaine and Winston (Wink) MacDonald; his sister whom he adored, Sheri MacDonald, Donkin; aunts Sharon Irvine, Glace Bay, Evelyn Carlin, Quebec, and uncle Raymond Irvine, Port Morien; as well as many cousins, extended family members and lifelong friends, especially cousin Michelle Boone and friend Jennifer Green with whom he shared a special bond.

Blaise was employed with the maintenance department at the Mayflower Mall. He loved his job very much and enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He shared many stories and laughter with everyone who visited or worked at the mall. Blaise was a die-hard Montreal Canadiens fan, win or lose.

Blaise had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with his presence. His family, friends, and co-workers will always remember his contagious smile and laughter that could brighten anyone’s day. He was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 12-4 p.m. with memorial service following in the chapel at 4 p.m. with Rev. Bob Biggar officiating.
