George MacDonald to reoffer for Dist. 9 in municipal election

-

GLACE BAY — George MacDonald, deputy mayor and Dist. 9 Coun., will be reoffering in the upcoming municipal election. A retired educator after 36 years, MacDonald served eight years on the school board and the past eight as councillor. MacDonald credits his success in municipal politics to using the same skills he used in guidance: being accessible, approachable, honest and treating every resident's problem — no matter how big or small — as his own. MacDonald describes the next four years in the CBRM as to be “exciting and challenging.” “Exciting because of the large projects like Port development, cruise terminal expansion, Donkin mine and many more that will stress economic development which is so badly needed,” he said. “Challenging because in District 9 we have massive infrastructure problems. Now with apparent financial Federal funding after the recent budget and Provincial collaboration I can see light at the end of the tunnel.”
