Why I cycle? It feels good and reminds me of my youth. How long have I been cycling? Around 30 years, after a 25-year layoff. One thing you wish you knew when you started cycling? How good I would feel after a ride. Best personal cycling? Riding 101 days in one year. Who do I cycle with? My best friend and wife Charlene. Funniest thing you have seen while out cycling? A young guy riding a bicycle without a seat. Best moment ever received from cycling? A big hug and kiss from my best friend after riding 50 km on our 50th wedding anniversary. Best compliment you have received out cycling? A woman on the side of the road said “you make that look easy.” Longest time you have been out on a road cycling? Four hours. Most inspiring moment cycling? Riding home after a flat tire in a thunder and lighting storm, 20 km from home. Who was your role model for cycling? Anyone I saw riding a bike when I wasn’t. How has cycling changed your life? Keeps me fit and gets me out every day the sun shines.
