Trial dates set for Sydney Mines man

SYDNEY — Trial dates were issued Thursday for a 41-year-old Sydney Mines man facing a multitude of offences. John Charles Ford of Church Street is scheduled to stand trial Feb. 8 on four counts of theft and six counts of breaching court orders. He is also scheduled to stand trial Feb. 14 on two counts of uttering threats and single counts of breaching a court order and possession of cocaine. A trial date of March 13 was scheduled on charges of carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace (a gun), uttering a threat, assault with a weapon, unlawful entry and three counts of breaching court orders. Ford has agreed to remain on remand pending the outcome of his trials.
