Reserve Mines man facing multiple assault offences

SYDNEY — A 50-year-old Reserve Mines man will be back in court next week for a bail hearing after being charged in connection with a stabbing this week at his home. Darren Ignatius Burke of Neville Street is charged with four counts of assault with a knife and a single count of uttering a threat. The offences allegedly occurred Thursday in Reserve Mines. The male victim suffered non-life threatenin­g injuries. Burke is scheduled to have a bail hearing Tuesday.
