LOCAL TRACK ATHLETES MEDAL

Two members of the Celtic Athletics team medaled at the recent Nova Scotia Track and Field Championships and Legion team selection meet in Sackville. Payton MacPhail won silver medals in shot put and discus, recording a personal best 20.44 metres in his discus throw. He recorded a throw of 6.43 metres in the shot put. Owen Minihan won bronze in the tetrathlon and threw 5.96 metres in the shot put competition for second place. Celtic Athletics placed 13th out of 20 teams competing.
