Traffic problems need to be addressed

-

The number of vehicles on the road in CBRM has doubled over the years in my estimation yet little has been done to cure the traffic problems that come with it.

There are two ways to can improve the situation – speed and traffic lights.

Problem #1: The 50-kilometre speed limit on Kings Road and Spar Road.

I say increase the speed limit to 70 kilometres. This would move traffic along very nicely.

Problem #2: We are badly in need of traffic lights at the following intersections:

a) Inglis Street and Prince Street. By far the busiest of all with the gas station at one corner, the Credit Union on another, the French school on the third and the Pensioners Club on the fourth.

b) Sheriff Ave. and Prince Street is also busy.

c) Argyle Street and George Street is one of the worst.

The people in charge of traffic lights in CBRM should take a look. I would be happy to go with them.
