Additional jail time imposed

SYDNEY — A New Glasgow man found with illegal drugs in his cell at the Cape Breton Correction­al Centre has been sentenced. Peter William Power, 54, was initially charged with possession for the purpose of traffickin­g but pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of possession. On Jan. 15, correction­s officers were informed that a quantity of Ritalin was found in Power’s cell. Power was given an additional three-month sentence to be served consecutiv­ely to a federal sentence already imposed on unrelated offences.
