Additional jail time imposed
SYDNEY — A New Glasgow man found with illegal drugs in his cell at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre has been sentenced. Peter William Power, 54, was initially charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking but pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of possession. On Jan. 15, corrections officers were informed that a quantity of Ritalin was found in Power’s cell. Power was given an additional three-month sentence to be served consecutively to a federal sentence already imposed on unrelated offences.
