BROWN, Brian “Mousy” Joseph Cordell

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian “Mousy” Brown of Glace Bay on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the Late Urban and Mary (Almon) Brown. During his life, Mousy was employed with the Cape Breton Regional Municipali­ty for 39 years. He loved playing pool and watching sports and cheering on his favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings.

Brian is survived by his wife, Janice Bond; daughters, Alisha, Vanessa and Natasha, all of Glace Bay; brothers, Urban and Gerard both of Glace Bay; sisters, Vivian, Geraldine, Judy and Marie all of Ontario, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also survived by his two special friends that were with him until the end, Donald and Richie Headley and his little buddy, Frankie.

Besides his parents, Mousy was predecease­d by his wife, Joan (Estwick) Brown and brother, Sanford.

Visitation for Brian will be held on Wednesday September 28, 2016 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday September 29, 20 16 at 2 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Leo Boone officiatin­g.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay, (902) 849-4199. Donations in memory of Brian can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of choice.
