GITTENS, William Francis

-

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, William Francis Gittens, age 40, on Sunday, September 25,2016.

Born in New Waterford, he was the beloved son of Morris and Rose (Reid) Gittens.

Will was a longtime employee with City Wide Taxi as a dispatcher. He belonged to the New Waterford Salvation Army. He left behind the love of his life, Lisa who he met in 1992 at Wheelies and married in August 2002.

If he wasn’t attending one of his children soccer, basketball games or band recitals, he would most likely be in the kitchen cooking up a storm with his infamous secret ingredient (Poppy’s hot sauce). Willie enjoyed playing basketball, four wheeling, fishing with his family, hanging out with his little wound up sidekick Buster, the dog. He also enjoyed a good night out with friends which included tearing up the dance floor.

William always raved about his mom’s cabbage rolls and loved his father’s hot wings.

He always had a strong bond with his siblings, they were always there for each other, no matter the situation.

William will be greatly missed by many friends, who were very important to him, and a special mention to his City Wide Taxi co-workers, especially Melissa and Butch Hawco.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa (Campbell) of 24 years, married for 14 years; his four beautiful children, Steven, Leah, Dakoda and Randy; his older sister, Tracey Gittens , her fiancé Dave; his younger brother, Jonothan (Rachel) and her daughter, Dylan, he was a very proud uncle to his only niece, Christene (Jed) and their children, Landyn Aria, as well as his four legged companion, Buster.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Evelyne and Mose Reid and William and Arsene Gittens.
