It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Mary Emma Doucette, 99 of Syd­ney, on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 6, 2017 at Har­bour­stone En­hanced Care Fa­cil­ity. Born in Cap LeMoine, NS, she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Mar­garet Le­Blanc.

She was a mem­ber of St. Joseph’s par­ish and a mem­ber of the C.W.L. for over 50 years. She was in­stru­men­tal in help­ing cre­ate the ban­ners for Mass for Shut Ins and worked on nu­mer­ous other ban­ners for var­i­ous or­ga­ni­za­tions. She was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily.

She is sur­vived by chil­dren, Sharon (Gordon) Roach, Wood­stock, NB, Bev­erly Doucette, Syd­ney, Ray­mond (Catherine) Doucette, Halifax, Kevin (El­iz­a­beth) Doucette, Oakville, ON; grand­chil­dren, Mary James, Lynn Ste­wart, Jen Pepin, Lau­rie Doucette, Danielle Doucette, Suzanne Doucette; great grand­chil­dren, Zoe James, Sasha James, Jackson Pepin, Mad­di­son Pepin, Emma Ste­wart and Lily Knight.

Mary was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band Joseph Richard, broth­ers Joe, Steve, Placide, Arthur and sis­ter Catherine.

Vis­i­ta­tion for Mrs. Doucette will be from 7-9 p.m. on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 9, 2017 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be cel­e­brated at 2:30 p.m. on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Fa­tima Church with Fr. Bill Burke of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment at Res­ur­rec­tion Ceme­tery, Syd­ney Forks.
