It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vince Rigby on February 7th, 2017 at the age of 52.

Vince is survived by his wife, Sandra (Campbell) and his proud, loving son, Jacob Rigby (Miranda Cantwell). By his parents, Bernard and Carol Rigby of Scotchtown; one sister, Obeline MacPherson (Clint) of New Waterford.

Vince was predecease­d by his both sets of grandparen­ts. His Father and Mother -inlaw, Gwen and Peter Campbell, Sydney. Vince’s nieces, nephews, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws will miss Uncle Vinny at any family gettogethe­rs.

Vince was a Veteran of the Canadian Forces serving over 20 years, in Canada, Cyprus, Germany, Croatia and Bosnia. He was a Welder by trade which took him to numerous job sites in Canada and the US. Vince was a founding member of Marijuana for Trauma, Veterans Helping Veterans, Sydney, a member of The UN Veterans Group and a coaching member of Football Cape Breton.

Vince will be remembered as having a legendary enthusiasm for his son Jacob, Veteran concerns, camping, fishing, motorcycle­s, the New England Patriots and his dog Brady. His curiosity and love of travel took him all over the world.

Visitation for Mr. Rigby will be held Monday, February 13th between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A Mass will be held February 14, 2017, 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church officiated by Father Paul Murphy.

A Celebratio­n of Life Service at the Pier Legion directly after the Mass.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel, Sydney.
