With heavy hearts we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of our son, brother, grand­son, un­cle and nephew, Cory Keigan on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 7, 2017.

Cory was born De­cem­ber 4, 1983, in North Syd­ney.

He grew up in the coun­try lov­ing the out­doors. Cory was his hap­pi­est work­ing in the woods and on the high seas. It was in his blood from a very young age. Cory was very ca­pa­ble at what­ever he put his mind to and gave a help­ing hand to who­ever was in need.

He is sur­vived by his mother, Eve­lyn Mac­Der­mid (David Reeves), Syd­ney; fa­ther, Carl Keigan, Wreck Cove; girl­friend, Tara MacKin­non and his princess, Bella, Syd­ney; broth­ers, Aaron (Sarah Mor­ri­son), N.B. and Kayle (Melissa Bates), Syd­ney; nephew, Carter; step­brother, Peter Reeves, B.C.; step­sis­ter, Michele Reeves (Jesse Den­ton), Syd­ney; ma­ter­nal grand­mother, Sarah MacRae (Sandy), North River; ma­ter­nal grand­fa­ther, Clarence Mac­Der­mid (Wanda), Syd­ney; pa­ter­nal grand­mother, Mae Keigan, Wreck Cove; sev­eral aunts, un­cles and cousins.

Cory was pre­de­ceased by his pa­ter­nal grand­fa­ther, John Keigan; un­cles, Ken­neth, Al­lan, Claude Keigan and Dean Mac­Der­mid and aunt, Heather Keigan. Visi­ta­tion will take place at St. Andrew’s Pres­by­te­rian Church, North River to­day from 12-1 p.m., fol­lowed by a ser­vice at 1 p.m., with Rev. Cor­rie Ste­wart of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In­ter­ment will be held at a later date.
