With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, grandson, uncle and nephew, Cory Keigan on Tuesday, February 7, 2017.

Cory was born December 4, 1983, in North Sydney.

He grew up in the country loving the outdoors. Cory was his happiest working in the woods and on the high seas. It was in his blood from a very young age. Cory was very capable at whatever he put his mind to and gave a helping hand to whoever was in need.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn MacDermid (David Reeves), Sydney; father, Carl Keigan, Wreck Cove; girlfriend, Tara MacKinnon and his princess, Bella, Sydney; brothers, Aaron (Sarah Morrison), N.B. and Kayle (Melissa Bates), Sydney; nephew, Carter; stepbrother, Peter Reeves, B.C.; stepsister, Michele Reeves (Jesse Denton), Sydney; maternal grandmother, Sarah MacRae (Sandy), North River; maternal grandfather, Clarence MacDermid (Wanda), Sydney; paternal grandmother, Mae Keigan, Wreck Cove; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cory was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Keigan; uncles, Kenneth, Allan, Claude Keigan and Dean MacDermid and aunt, Heather Keigan. Visitation will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, North River today from 12-1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Corrie Stewart officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
