It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, niece and friend April Pelletier, on February 9, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Halifax (1979), she is the daughter of Colleen Connors and Ken (Leisa) Pelletier.

April had a smile that could light up a room. She always put her family first. No matter what was going on she was always there to support her family and friends. She was proudly employed as a Food Safety Team Leader at Classic Fine Foods.

Besides her parents she will be lovingly missed by her husband, Ryan Dickie; children, Dustin Pelletier, Taylor and Emmett Dickie, (all at home); brother, Bobby (Mallory) and sister, Jenn Pelletier; grandmothe­r, Jeanette Connors; grandfathe­r, Joe Pelletier; mother and father-in-law, Liz and Jimi Dickie; brother-inlaw, Mark (Sheena) Dickie. She is also survived by three nieces, Maizy Pelletier, Rhyan Hardy and Aehdyn Dickie; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Melissa Stevenson and Lindsay Smith.

April is predecease­d by her grandfathe­r, Mike Connors and grandmothe­r, Doreen Pelletier.

In leiu of flowers, donations in April’s memory can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center, or the Palliative Care Unit.

Visitation for April will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, N.S. Funeral Service will be held the following day Thursday, February 16, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant Officiatin­g.
