We the fam­ily of John Wil­liam Cook an­nounce his pass­ing on Jan­uary 15, 2017 at The Three Lyn Cen­ter, Van­cou­ver. Born in New Water­ford on Jan­uary 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary El­iz­a­beth ‘Bessie’ (Dick­son) Cook.

He is sur­vived by his son, Peter; grand­daugh­ters, Ka­t­rina and Amanda, Fort Laud­erdale, Florida; sis­ters, Cather­ine (Bernard) Landry, River Bour­geois, Ruth Gaudet, Sydney, Betty Anne (Murry) Kirk­patrick, Col­burn, ON; brother, Pa­trick (Paddy), New Water­ford, Peter (Aleta), Ham­mond Plains, Bernard (Bernie), Sydney, as well as sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his parents he is pre­de­ceased by sis­ters, Alice, Edith and Mar­garet; brother, James (Jimmy), also in in­fancy his sib­lings, John, David, Sheila and Pa­tri­cia; broth­ers-in-law, Austin Gaudet and John Wil­lie Fraser; sis­ter-in-law, Donna (Dupe) Cook and Pa­tri­cia Mac­Don­ald, mother of his son, Peter.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place and a cel­e­bra­tion of his life will take place Wed­nes­day, February 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the fu­neral home chapel with Dea­con Leo Penny of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial in Mount Carmel Ceme­tery. Fu­neral ar­range­ments are un­der the di­rec­tion of McLel­lan Broth­ers Fu­neral Home, 3183 Plum­mer Ave., New Water­ford, 902-862-7500.
