With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of Margaret Effie ‘Margie’ Parr of New Waterford on February 25, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 27, 1968, she was the daughter of Dorothy Parr and the late Neilie MacNeil.

Margie had a profound love for her family, especially daughter Mobanda ‘Mo’ and son Larry ‘Red’. She enjoyed many evenings playing Bingo, darts, or having a card game. Margie had a huge heart, which was evident to all those who knew and loved her.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Mo (Laura); son, Red (Katelyn) and mother, Dorothy. Loving grandmothe­r to, Caysen, Hadden and Lynaya. Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers, Melinda (Earl) Burke, John (Shauna), Kimmy, Johnny (Rachel), Judy (Allan) Griffiths and Stevie; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and inlaws; special friends, Sally Tortola and Mary Phillips.

Besides her father Neilie, she was also predecease­d by the love of her life, Larry Phillips and brother, Wayne.

Special thanks from the family to the doctors and staff of 4A, 4B and especially An Cala Palliative Care unit of the CB Regional Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiatin­g. Burial at a later date. A luncheon to follow at the K.O.C, Plummer Ave. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral
