PARR, Mar­garet Effie

With heavy hearts, we re­gret to an­nounce the pass­ing of Mar­garet Effie ‘Margie’ Parr of New Water­ford on Fe­bru­ary 25, 2017 af­ter a long, coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer. Born on Jan­uary 27, 1968, she was the daugh­ter of Dorothy Parr and the late Neilie MacNeil.

Margie had a pro­found love for her fam­ily, es­pe­cially daugh­ter Mobanda ‘Mo’ and son Larry ‘Red’. She en­joyed many evenings play­ing Bingo, darts, or hav­ing a card game. Margie had a huge heart, which was ev­i­dent to all those who knew and loved her.

Margie is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Mo (Laura); son, Red (Kate­lyn) and mother, Dorothy. Lov­ing grand­mother to, Cay­sen, Had­den and Ly­naya. Also left to mourn are sis­ters and broth­ers, Melinda (Earl) Burke, John (Shauna), Kimmy, Johnny (Rachel), Judy (Al­lan) Grif­fiths and Ste­vie; nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews, cousins, and in­laws; spe­cial friends, Sally Tor­tola and Mary Phillips.

Be­sides her fa­ther Neilie, she was also pre­de­ceased by the love of her life, Larry Phillips and brother, Wayne.

Spe­cial thanks from the fam­ily to the doc­tors and staff of 4A, 4B and es­pe­cially An Cala Pal­lia­tive Care unit of the CB Re­gional Hos­pi­tal.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place. A chapel ser­vice will be held on Wed­nes­day, March 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dea­con Leo Penny of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial at a later date. A lun­cheon to fol­low at the K.O.C, Plum­mer Ave. Ar­range­ments are un­der the di­rec­tion of McLel­lan Broth­ers Funeral
