DITHURBIDE, Mary Cecile

With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we the family, regret to announce the passing of Mary Cecile Dithurbide on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Foyer Pere Fiset, Cheticamp.

Born in Inverness on January 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Sophie Gaudet and Thomas Doucet of Inverness, Inverness Co.

Mary Cecile is survived by daughters, Adirena, Deborah (Carl), Marjorie (Allan), Olive and Terry; sons, Thomas, Arnold (Emilie), Ricky (Susan), Darryl (Margaret); 14 grandchild­ren, Cathy, Stephanie, Mathew, Amanda, Ryan, Lori, Chad, Ricky, Brent, Ian, Eric, Britney, Andy and Taija; five great-grandchild­ren, Kody, Zachary, Katie, Megan and Hailey and her brother, Gordon Doucet.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Albert Bapiste and son, Peter Anthony ‘Andy’.

Mary Cecile was known for her kind heart, her good humour and the love she had for her family. She will be forever missed by her entire family and the many friends and staff she enjoyed while residing at Foyer Pere Fiset, as well as friends and staff of Sydney City Homemakers she cherished while living in Sydney.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Foyer Pere Fiset and Sydney City Homemakers for their kindness and affectiona­te care they provided.

Visitation for Mrs. Dithurbide will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 2 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Paul Murphy officiatin­g. Interment at Resurrecti­on Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
