Friday, April 14 marks the day set to celebrate the annual Easter Fun Day Fundraiser in St. Peter’s.

This year’s event will take place on Good Friday, starting at 9:30 a.m. and will run until 11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter’s Area Lions Club at 39 Lions Ave. The Easter Fun Day is a fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation with lots of fun-filled activities scheduled to take place.

Join organizers for a pancake breakfast running from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., admission for the breakfast is a silver collection, and there will be entertainment hosted by Richmond entertainer, Jason MacDonald.

During the morning, kids can show their artistic ability with egg decorating, do crafts activities, have their face painted, and then join in the giant outdoor egg hunt. There will be door prizes, and there will be cupcakes, cookies and juice for the little ones, as well as a visit with the Easter bunny. Parents can purchase home baking at the Fun Day bake sale, and there will be tickets sold on an Easter basket as well. Admission for the morning activities will be $5 per child or $10 for a family of two or more. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Shanna Burke organized the annual Easter Fun Day Fundraiser to raise money for local children to obtain their special wish. Burke is an amazing young lady, who volunteers her time year after year to help fundraise in the community. Burke is responsible for many of the local community organized kid’s events, held throughout the year, such as the Kids Have Talent event held during the Nicolas Denys Days, the fun day at Halloween, and the fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation. Burke can usually be found making sure all the events run smoothly and on schedule. She is lucky to have a number of people in her network of friends, who will help gather the needed supplies for the event, which makes it a success.

Last year The Easter Fun Day drew more than 120 kids and they are expecting to see a similar number this year.
