DEARING, Hattie Marie (nee Fraser)

-

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Wife, Mother, Nanny and a Sister, Hattie Marie Dearing (nee Fraser) on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario, in her youthful 67th year.

Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, on June 17, 1949 the daughter of the late Ronald (1905) and Florence (1911) Fraser (nee MacKinnon), sister to Betty, Patricia, Evelyn, Catherine, Arthur, Joey, and David.

Hattie & husband, Crawford Peter Dearing (1949-2004) (Glace Bay) set their sails west to Ontario where they swooned and fell in love with each other - each and every day, regularly writing the other love letters; they enjoyed cooking rich family meals, topped with Hattie’s signature savory gravy, sharing sweet fancy desserts, driving classic cars and endless nights of 9-5-2 while listening to Fleetwood Mac, Conway Twitty and Charley Pride.

Hattie and Crawford are survived by Tabatha; April (Costas) and grandson, Billy; Natalie (John), and grandsons, Jacob, Ethan & Noah; Nicole (David), and grandson, Jonathan, granddaughter, Sarah; Crawford JR; Sharon (Rob) and grandson, Aiden.

Hattie adored and was adored by her grandchildren as she spent countless hours learning the fine art of Donkey-Kong, Lego Batman, Lego Stars Wars, and watching and re-watching the Harry Potter movies; the grandkids were the apple of her eye. Alas, Hattie suffered from premature graying as she always claimed to be 39; regardless of age, she kept a sharp wit and a close loving eye on her growing family.

Hattie will be laid to rest with the love of her life; there will be a service held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Glen Oaks Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario, L6H 7A8.

Hattie loved beautiful flowers, but loved living for her family more, and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation be made so that others may live strong powerful lives.
