It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Kevin Gould, age 46, on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Sydney on March 12, 1970, he was a son of the late John and Rubena (Pierro) Gould. He was a Mi’kmaq Warrior.

Kevin was a seasonal fisherman in the lobster fishery. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan.

Kevin is survived by his daughters, Sammy Jo Googoo, Lauren Sylliboy, both of We’koqma’q, Skye Gould, Kanesatake, Que. and Paige Marshall, Eskasoni; son, John Frank Marshall, Eskasoni; his partner, Mary Verna Okay; sisters, Catherine Gould, We’koqma’q, Louise (Gerard) Witzell, Wagmatcook and Rhonda (Hans) Pierro, Moncton, NB; brothers, Andrew (Elizabeth) Gould, We’koqma’q, Kelly (Charlotte) Gould, Pictou Landing and Daniel (Flora) Gould, Maniwaki, Que.; grandchild­ren, Emily Googoo, Lance Googoo, Kenneth Googoo, Allister Googoo, Kayson Poulette and Raiden Poulette; godchild, Nigel Jij Johnson; his childhood friend and best friend, Joey Greene and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the MultiPurpo­se Building, 160 Reservatio­n Road, We’koqma’q First Nation. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9 from Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q with Father Paul Abbass officiatin­g. Burial in the parish cemetery.
